We give thanks for all the support we’ve had, but now find it impossible to make ends meet in our current office location. We’re taking some time off (ie getting other jobs!) and hope to reopen at another location on the island when the economy improves and eco-tourists rediscover Caye Caulker’s many charms. Please do stay in touch and we’ll try to keep the blog going with eco and reef issues. Our hearts are still in it, but unfortunately our pockets are empty!

I’m so sad to hear that. I know that things will pick back up. My husband and I are always talking about going back to Caye Caulker, but you’re exactly right, this economy makes it hard to travel. We both lost our jobs last year. We know Caye Caulker will make a comeback in tourism, it’s such an amazing place! Best of luck.
